Dear Patch MS Families,

This week, I am thrilled to share the incredible achievements of our students, who continue to shine both on campus and beyond. From a captivating Mystery Dinner organized by our talented Video Productions Club to an awe-inspiring Space Camp adventure and a beautiful Strings Concert, our students have demonstrated creativity, teamwork, and a passion for learning. These experiences are a testament to the vibrant educational opportunities at Patch Middle School.

Patch Middle School is hosting an exciting Mystery Dinner, brought to life by our talented Video Productions Club. Students will lead entire production, from scripting the mystery to performing as the evening’s captivating cast. Guided by their sponsor Matthew Fischer, the club will transform an ordinary evening into a thrilling, interactive experience that will leave guests on the edge of their seats. Mr. Fischer is excited to share the success of his students and celebrate their hard work.

In addition to the Mystery Dinner, several Patch MS students attended Space Camp, exploring the wonders of the cosmos through hands-on activities like astronaut training, rocket building, and space science experiments. Space Camp sponsors Luis Lugo and Samuel Eller were thrilled to witness their students' enthusiasm and curiosity as they reached for the stars.

Our talented Patch MS Strings students also took center stage with a beautiful concert, showcasing their musical skills and dedication under the direction of Merrillan Watson. Our young musicians delivered an enchanting performance that left the audience in awe.

We are grateful to our dedicated sponsors for making these experiences possible. Patch MS continues to provide students with unique, engaging opportunities to learn, grow, and shine.

Warm regards,
Mrs. Gamble and Mrs. Small

PAWS - Problem Solve-Always Care-Work Hard-Show Respect

Challenge #2 ~ School Links Task ~ May 12 - 22

This Quarter, our PBIS focus is on "Work Hard," representing the W in our school-wide theme PAWS — Problem Solve, Always Care, Work Hard, Show Respect. At our school, working hard means giving your best effort, staying focused, and pushing through challenges with determination. Whether it's participating in class, completing assignments on time, or helping others succeed, showing a strong work ethic helps build a positive learning environment for everyone. Let's celebrate the power of perseverance and encourage one another to stay committed, take pride in our efforts, and strive for excellence every day!

We'll work to meet the "Complete School Links Task" challenge from May 12 -22.  All students who have no missings during this time will get to celebrate with a Pizza on the Porch treat by our PTSA!  Thank you to all the parent volunteers who collaborate with us to encourage our students to be their best!

Patch MS Students Reach for the Stars at Space Camp!

Patch Middle School students recently embarked on an out-of-this-world adventure at Space Camp, where they explored the wonders of space through hands-on activities and immersive experiences. Over the course of several days, students participated in a series of exciting activities, including building and launching rockets, experiencing the thrill of the rotor, which simulated 2.7 G-forces, and even using scuba gear to fix a module underwater—an exercise designed to mimic working in space.

One of the most memorable highlights was the mission activity, where students took on assigned roles in a simulated space mission. From launching to orbiting and landing, they worked together to manage mission control, solve problems, and ensure a successful journey. The Space Camp experience offered a unique opportunity for students to develop teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a deeper appreciation for the science and technology behind space exploration.

Special thanks to our dedicated Space Camp sponsors, Mr. Luis Lugo and Mr. Samuel Eller, for guiding our students through this incredible experience. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Spouse’s Club and PTSA for their generous donations, which helped make this unforgettable adventure possible. Patch MS is proud to provide our students with opportunities to explore, learn, and dream big!

Patch Middle School Expectations - Digital Norms

This month at Patch Middle School, we're spotlighting the importance of healthy digital habits with the video Hack the Habits! In this fun and relatable video, students discover how everyday choices—like locking their screen and using devices for the intended purpose—can dramatically improve focus, reduce distractions, and support academic success. In class, students will revisit how small shifts in digital behavior can lead to big wins in productivity.  As we explore these strategies, we're encouraging students to take charge of their digital lives and build habits that will serve them both in and out of school.
