What an unforgettable evening at Patch Middle School’s Arts Night! Our school came alive with creativity, talent, and community spirit as students, families, and staff gathered to celebrate the many artistic achievements of our incredible students. The hallways were transformed into vibrant galleries showcasing stunning 2D and 3D art projects, powerful photography exhibits, and imaginative pieces from our creative writing and poetry students.
Visitors were treated to musical performances by our talented Patch Strings ensemble and the high-energy Student Performance Band, setting the tone for a night filled with artistic expression. The drama department delivered a moving performance of Elizabeth West’s Rosie the Riveter, bringing history and emotion to life on stage with remarkable talent and heart. Meanwhile, our video production classes wowed the audience with a showcase of original short films, highlighting student voice and storytelling through a modern lens.
A huge thank you goes out to our amazing Patch Middle School PTSA, whose support helped make the evening even more special. The fun activities they organized added joy and energy to the event, and the ice cream truck was a definite crowd-pleaser! We are grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to enriching the experiences of all our students. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this incredible night of art, performance, and community.
Looking ahead, we want to remind families that CCRS system-wide testing for grades 6 and 7 will begin soon. It is essential that all students come to school with a fully charged Chromebook each day of testing. Please help your child prepare by ensuring they get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast, and come ready to do their best. Thank you for your continued support!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Gamble and Mrs. Small

Challenge #2 ~ No Missing Assignments ~ April 29 - May 9
This Quarter, our PBIS focus is on "Work Hard," representing the W in our school-wide theme PAWS — Problem Solve, Always Care, Work Hard, Show Respect. At our school, working hard means giving your best effort, staying focused, and pushing through challenges with determination. Whether it's participating in class, completing assignments on time, or helping others succeed, showing a strong work ethic helps build a positive learning environment for everyone. Let's celebrate the power of perseverance and encourage one another to stay committed, take pride in our efforts, and strive for excellence every day!
We'll work to meet the "No Missing Assignments" challenge from April 29 - Â May 9. Â All students who have no missings during this time will get to celebrate with a Popsicles on the Porch treat by our PTSA! Â Thank you to all the parent volunteers who collaborate with us to encourage our students to be their best!

At Patch Middle School, we believe in recognizing students who go above and beyond to create a positive and supportive environment. This month, several students received Positive Office Referrals for demonstrating kindness and compassion toward their peers, both in and out of the classroom. Whether helping a classmate with a tough assignment, including someone new at lunch, or offering words of encouragement during a challenging moment, these students embody the values of respect and empathy that make our school community stronger. Their actions serve as a reminder that small gestures of kindness can have a big impact, and we are proud to celebrate their efforts!
Receiving Positive Office Referrals not only celebrates students' kindness but also reinforces the importance of empathy and leadership in their school journey. Demonstrating positive character traits like compassion and teamwork can strengthen their relationships with peers and teachers, creating a more supportive learning environment.Â

This month at Patch Middle School, we're spotlighting the importance of healthy digital habits with the video Hack the Habits! In this fun and relatable video, students discover how everyday choices—like locking their screen and using devices for the intended purpose—can dramatically improve focus, reduce distractions, and support academic success. In class, students will revisit how small shifts in digital behavior can lead to big wins in productivity.  As we explore these strategies, we're encouraging students to take charge of their digital lives and build habits that will serve them both in and out of school.
