Patch MS Robotics Team Shines in Virtual Contest

The Patch Middle School Robotics Team recently showcased their creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking during a virtual robotics competition hosted by DoDEA Europe. Representing Patch MS with pride, the team competed against students from across the region, tackling a series of engineering and coding challenges that tested their ability to solve problems, design effective solutions, and think like real-world innovators. Adding to the excitement, parents, administrators, and staff were on hand to watch and support the team during several of the live competition rounds.
The team is made up of students from grades 6, 7, and 8 and is led by Ms. Betsy Tornatore, an art teacher at Patch MS. They spent weeks preparing—designing and programming their virtual robots to complete tasks, overcome obstacles, and respond to complex challenges. Their hard work and preparation paid off as they met each round with enthusiasm, adaptability, and ingenuity.
