As we move into the final stretch of the school year, we want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible year it has been for our school community. Throughout the year, we have seen tremendous growth—academically, socially, and emotionally—from our students. Classrooms have been filled with curiosity, creativity, and perseverance, and we couldn’t be more proud of all that has been accomplished.
With the arrival of spring, there is an extra sense of energy and excitement throughout the building. The warmer weather and longer days remind us that the finish line is in sight, but there is still important work to be done. This is a time to stay focused, continue building strong habits, and make the most of every learning opportunity.
We encourage all of our students to keep striving for their personal best. Whether it’s completing assignments, preparing for upcoming assessments, or participating fully in class activities, every effort matters. Finishing the year strong is a wonderful way to reflect the hard work that has been put in all year long.
Families, your continued support makes a meaningful difference. Encouraging routines, celebrating progress, and staying connected with your child’s learning helps ensure success through the final weeks.
As always, thank you for being such an important part of our school community. Let’s enjoy the beauty of the spring season while staying committed to excellence. Together, we can make these last weeks some of the most successful and memorable of the year.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Gamble and Mr. Myrga

At Patch Middle School, both Aspen and Google Classroom play important roles in keeping families informed, but each serves a different purpose. Understanding the difference helps parents and students stay on top of learning and grading.
Aspen – The Official Gradebook
Aspen is the only official record of student grades. Final assignment grades and overall course grades are entered and maintained in Aspen. When you want to know a student’s current standing in a class, always check Aspen first—these grades are the ones that count toward report cards and transcripts.
Google Classroom – The Learning Platform
Google Classroom is where teachers share assignment details, instructions, resources, and—when appropriate—provide a place for students to submit work digitally. While teachers may post feedback and scores in Google Classroom, these numbers are intended for communication and guidance only. They do not represent official grades.
Key Takeaway
Think of Aspen as the gradebook and Google Classroom as the classroom workspace. Both are important, but only Aspen contains the grades that appear on report cards.

Our front office team is ready to help students and families, but we need your support to keep things running smoothly. With two fewer permanent office positions, it may take a bit longer to reach our team. Thank you for your patience and support as we work hard to meet the needs of our school community.
