Greetings Patch MS Families!

Things are going great at Patch Middle School, and we couldn’t be prouder of our school community. Our teachers continue to do exceptional work each day, creating engaging classrooms and supporting students with care and high expectations. Their dedication is clearly reflected in the positive energy we see across campus.

Our students have also been shining. They are showing responsibility, perseverance, and pride in their learning, and it has been wonderful to watch them step up and support one another.

We are especially pleased to share that we wrapped up a very smooth and successful week of testing. Thanks to strong preparation, organization, and teamwork, the process went efficiently and calmly. Our students worked hard and gave their best efforts, demonstrating the growth they have made throughout the year.

As we move forward into the final stretch of the school year, we are excited to continue building on this momentum. Patch remains a place where great teaching, great learning, and a strong sense of community come together every day.

Warm regards,
Mrs. Gamble and Mr. Myrga

Aspen vs. Google Classroom: Where to Find Official Grades

At Patch Middle School, both Aspen and Google Classroom play important roles in keeping families informed, but each serves a different purpose. Understanding the difference helps parents and students stay on top of learning and grading.

Aspen – The Official Gradebook
Aspen is the only official record of student grades. Final assignment grades and overall course grades are entered and maintained in Aspen. When you want to know a student’s current standing in a class, always check Aspen first—these grades are the ones that count toward report cards and transcripts.

Google Classroom – The Learning Platform
Google Classroom is where teachers share assignment details, instructions, resources, and—when appropriate—provide a place for students to submit work digitally. While teachers may post feedback and scores in Google Classroom, these numbers are intended for communication and guidance only. They do not represent official grades.

Key Takeaway
Think of Aspen as the gradebook and Google Classroom as the classroom workspace. Both are important, but only Aspen contains the grades that appear on report cards.
